Greek-Speaking Psychologist in Netherlands
Therapy in Greek - Therapy for Expats - Therapy for Students
Psychological therapy in Greek, with space to speak in your own language
Finding the right psychologist is not only about qualifications or therapeutic approach. It can also be about feeling understood, being able to express yourself naturally, and having the freedom to speak about experiences in the language that feels most comfortable to you.

For Greek-speaking clients living in Maastricht or elsewhere in the Netherlands, I offer psychological online therapy in Greek as well as English.

You may have lived abroad for years and feel completely comfortable speaking English in your everyday life, while still noticing that certain emotions, memories, relationships, or personal experiences are easier to express in Greek. For some people, their first language carries a different emotional depth. Certain feelings come more naturally, particular expressions have a meaning that is difficult to translate, or speaking Greek simply feels more familiar when discussing something personal.

There is no right or wrong language for therapy. What matters is that you have enough freedom to express what you are experiencing without feeling that you have to search for the “correct” words.
Living abroad can bring its own challenges
Moving away from Greece and building a life in another country can be an exciting and meaningful experience, but it can also bring changes that are not always easy to talk about.

You may be adapting to a different culture, building new relationships, navigating work or studies in another language, or trying to create a sense of belonging somewhere that initially felt unfamiliar.

You might also experience a complicated relationship with home. You can enjoy your life in the Netherlands while missing family, friendships, familiarity, or aspects of Greek culture. You may feel that you have changed since leaving Greece and sometimes wonder where you fit now.

These experiences do not necessarily mean that you are struggling with “expat life.” They are simply part of what can happen when your environment, relationships, and sense of identity change.

Having the option to talk about them in Greek can sometimes make it easier to explore what they mean to you.

A bit about me and how I work
I’m Lena Georgiadi, a greek psychologist offering online therapy in English & Greek to adults across the Netherlands and internationally. Over the years, I have worked with many expats, internationals, students, and young professionals facing difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, panic attacks, social anxiety, low self-esteem, perfectionism, procrastination, relationship difficulties, loneliness, burnout, people-pleasing, difficulties with boundaries, fear of criticism or failure, and other concerns. I feel particularly connected to this work because I also live within an international environment myself and understand firsthand both the visible and less visible parts of adapting to life abroad. My approach is integrative and draws primarily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy, depending on what is most relevant to your individual needs.
